“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Luke 4:18-19
Prayer:
Father, thank you for sending us Jesus to save us, release us from captivity, give us sight, and set us free. Your word says that when Jesus sets us free that we are free indeed. We are free to worship you, live for you, and fulfill the purposes that you have for our lives. You have poured out your Spirit in us, and your light shines in us. You, the light of the world, live in us, and you shine through us. God, we pray for those in our family and in Katy, Texas who do not know you. Open the eyes of the blind and give them sight. Let them see the light that is in your people and give them hope. Anoint us with your Spirit to share the Gospel. Give us your eyes to see the lost, your heart to love the lost, and your grace to share the Gospel. Father, tender the soil of hardened hearts. Teach us to pray for the lost and go beyond our comfort zone to share the love of Christ. In Jesus’ name, amen.
